FUNDACIÓN CIEN
SCAP-AD project
As part of Fundación CIEN, we embarked on a very special project: SCAP-AD, a pioneering initiative dedicated to the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. In such a sensitive field as neurodegenerative diseases, communication, perception and accessibility are essential.
Our work involved designing a visual identity that clearly and humanely reflected the project’s mission, creating connections with both the scientific community and the general public, and making it possible to communicate SCAP-AD’s value proposition in a direct, friendly and memorable way.
CHALLENGES
The main challenge was to express the technical, innovative and high-impact nature of the SCAP-AD project through a visual identity that was also approachable, understandable and accessible to everyone.
It was necessary to translate concepts such as “precision medicine”, “population cohorts over 60”, “early diagnosis” and “digital tools” into a coherent visual language. At the same time, it was essential to create a visual expression that connected both with scientific organisations and healthcare centres and with citizens who might participate in the study, without losing rigour or empathy.
IMPLEMENTED SOLUTION
To address this challenge, we adopted a structured three-phase approach:
We explored the project’s mission, its research context and its target audiences — from potential participants over 60 to clinical professionals — as well as the need to combine accessibility with scientific credibility.
We defined a logo, typography, colour palette and graphic elements to create a coherent, modern and expandable image. At the same time, we worked on the naming to capture the nature of the process (detection, prevention and precision) in a clear, direct tone.
We delivered logo versions, usage guidelines, versions for digital and print media, adaptations for social media, materials to promote the study (posters and leaflets) and templates that the Fundación team can use independently.
WHAT HAS FUNDACIÓN CIEN ACHIEVED?
Thanks to our collaboration, Fundación CIEN has been able to present the SCAP-AD project with a professional, coherent and visually appealing identity. The study’s new image is now:
- Easy to recognise and conveys trust.
- Adapted to be understood by very diverse audiences: researchers, partner organisations, study participants and the general public.
- It facilitates the initiative's dissemination and strengthens Fundación CIEN's visibility as a reference in Alzheimer's research.
- It enables a consistent visual rollout across all media — digital and print — with a unified image.
